Description
Magic Mushroom Grow Kit Cambodia XL by Mondo®
Years of research and development have resulted in a new generation of standard grow kits for the cultivation of Psilocybe cubensis Magic Mushroom Grow Kit Cambodia XL by Mondo®.
The Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ XL standard grow kit is now better than ever! The latest version of Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit offers the following benefits over the original generation:
- Better yield = more mushrooms
- More flushes*
- Greater resistance against contamination
- Different but with simpler instructions
*some strains produce more flushes than others. The first three “flushes” are the largest.
Discover the new standard for simple magic mushroom grow kits
The Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit is somewhat different from previous kits. You’ll notice it the moment you open the cardboard box. The typical micron filter is located in the middle, on top of the plastic cover.
This time, though, there is a white sticky strip on the lid. Both sections are required in the early stages of laboratory preparation. They must be preserved.
You will not need to utilize any more spores, like with previous basic magic mushroom grow kits. During the laboratory procedure, the spores transformed into mycelium within the grow box’s substrate (or “Cake”).
How to Store the Magic Mushroom Grow Kit Cambodia XL by Mondo® Properly
It is advised that you begin growing as soon as you get the kit. If you prefer to start later, you must keep the Mondo Cambodia XL magic mushroom grow kit in the refrigerator (between 2°C and 8°C) for 2 weeks.
Contents
- 1x grow box – Contains substrate with active mycelium (the Cake)
- 1x Large Grow Bag – The bag has horizontal filters to keep pollutants out
- 2x paperclip – To close the grow bag.
You will need
- Nebulizer – Spraying water is necessary for the humidity level
- Drinking water – For the spraying and immersion process
- Clean environment – Work in a clean environment to avoid allowing other fungi or bacteria (microorganisms) to contaminate.
It is recommended to use
- sterile gloves
- face mask
- hand sanitizer
- surface disinfectant
- Dunking bag
- thermometer
- heating mat (when the room temperature drops below 18° C)
How to prepare yourself and prepare the room before starting
- Close all open windows. Wind or air currents carry microorganisms that could contaminate the Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit.
- When you take the grow box with the “Cake” inside out of the cardboard box, place it on a disinfected surface. If this surface is not clean, microorganisms could attach themselves to the grow box and develop inside the Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ XL Magic Mushroom kit, contaminating it.
- Make sure you work with clean hands and arms. We recommend using sterile gloves or a good disinfectant when handling the kit. You should also use a face mask to avoid breathing inside the growbox or on the Cake.
Proceed with cultivation
- Fill the box with fresh, drinking water. Close the cultivation box tightly and leave to soak for 12 hours.
- After 12 hours, pour the surplus water out of the growing box.
- Place the grow box inside the grow bag . The opening of the bag must point upwards.
- Remove the lid from the grow box. Rinse the lid and place it in the cardboard box.
- Fold the opening of the grow bag twice, do not cover the micron filter.
- Place the paper clip on the fold, so that the bag remains closed. Now the Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit is ready to grow!
- Place the Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit inside the cardboard box, on top of the zip-lock bag with the lid inside.
Temperature
24°C is the optimal temperature. Allow no temperature to fall below 18°C and no temperature to rise over 29°C. A heating mat may be used to keep the temperature above 18°C and prevent it from going below that level. The heating pad is essential for the winter season or for individuals who live and desire to develop in cold climates.
Light
The Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit simply need light to signal to the mycelium that it has reached the surface. Only then will the mushrooms sprout.
A few hours of artificial light or indirect sunshine each day are more than plenty. Because direct sunlight destroys mycelium, avoid exposing the kit to it.
Nebulization / Water
You may start with fog the day after you start cultivating. Remove the paper clip from the grow bag to open it. Spray once on each side of the grow bag rather than directly on the Cake.
You will create the mist once a day, spraying four times. The fog also introduces new oxygen into the bag. Close the bag with the paper clip immediately after the fog.
Mushrooms If growing circumstances are favorable, the first little mushrooms (known as “pins”) will develop between the fifth and sixteenth day. This may also be affected by the strain. Some Cubensis strains mature at a slower rate than others.
Flushes
The mushrooms emerge in clusters. They might consist of small or huge groups. This is determined by the strain. This kind of growth is also known as a flush or “flush.” Mushrooms seldom mature completely at once. Each flush kit may produce more than one flush.
The first two flushes are the most significant. When you have numerous flushes, the next ones will be smaller than the prior ones.
Collection
When the veil between the cap and the stem has barely broken, the mushrooms are ready and must be gathered. Don’t put it off any longer. Hands, wrists, and arms should be cleaned with sterile gloves or disinfected. Collect the mushrooms that are already ripe and let the others to grow.
Grip the base of the mushroom between your thumb and fingers and remove it from the cake. Slowly rotate your palm clockwise until the mushroom loses way and falls off. Don’t sever mushrooms! Uncorking them risks harming and destroying the mycelium.
After you’ve gathered the majority of the bigger mushrooms, you may go on to the smaller ones and, eventually, the “pins.”
Mushrooms growing on the grow box’s sides
Mushrooms grow in areas where light can penetrate and there is minimal penetrating resistance. Because the light penetrates the edges of the Cake, mushrooms may grow there as well.
It is difficult to prevent this from occurring, thus it may occur often. To shield against light, some growers cover the sides of the grow box with aluminum foil, although this approach does not always effective.
Mushrooms that grow on the edges of the box may be collected just before immersing the kit:
Check that your hands are clean! Remove the grow box from its bag and hold it upside down with your other hand. Shake the plastic box, and the cake will fall into your hands.
The plastic box should be put on a clean surface. You now have a free hand to harvest the mushrooms off the Cake’s sides. Once you’ve gathered all of the mushrooms, return the Cake to its original location in the plastic box and continue with the dipping procedure.
Soaking / Immersion
After you have gathered all of the mushrooms, you will prepare your equipment for the next flush. Remove the culture box from the cultivation bag using sanitized hands or gloves. Fill the box halfway with clean drinking water.
Close the grow box with the lid placed in the ziplock bag. Wrap a clean plastic bag around the grow box or place it in a drench bag. Refrigerate for 12 hours, hermetically closed (between 2°C and 8°C). This is referred to as the immersion or “soaking” process. The water will permeate the whole substrate, preparing it for the next flush.
During the immersion, the culture bag with micron filter may be hung upside down to dry. During this procedure, hold it upside down to prevent bacteria from getting inside the bag. After each flush, many growers like to use fresh, unused micron filter grow bags.
Remove the soaking bag with the grow box inside from the refrigerator after 12 hours and unpack it.
Following flushes
To proceed, repeat steps 3 through 7 from the beginning of the procedure. A fresh flush will occur a few days later. One Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ XL Magic Mushroom grow kit may produce up to two or three flushes. With practice, you’ll be able to get more and more flushes out of a single kit.
End
When no additional mushrooms grow from a grow kit after at least three weeks, or when the Cambodia magic mushroom grow kit becomes green, red, gray, or yellow, the grow kit may be discarded.
The change in hue indicates that the grow kit has been infected with another fungus or bacterium. The Cambodia Magic Mushroom Grow Kit will not produce any more mushrooms and should be discarded.
Spores If you do not harvest the mushrooms as soon as they are mature, their spores will settle. Due to the spores, the cake and mushrooms will become black/purple (or in the case of certain Cubensis strains, red/brown).
This will not be a major issue, but it will not be visually appealing. When the mushrooms release their spores, the active chemicals begin to deteriorate. The mushrooms’ potency will thereafter be reduced.
